Baby & Kids Clinic: Keeping baby & kids healthy naturally
We specialise in baby & child health-from newborn through to teens.
As a parent of two boys and having treated them and other children in my clinic, I have seen and treated a vast number of childhood illnesses – from whooping cough, eczema, asthma and UTIs, to ADHD, colic and allergies/intolerances. The first hand experience has taught me that using a gentle blend of TLC, diet, lifestyle, herb treatments and phytonutrients, depending on the individual needs is mostly a very successful approach. And the great thing is that my medicine can be used in most cases alongside orthodox drugs, which may be important and necessary for your child – and in many cases assist in counteracting drug side-effect.
Little people are my favourite patients. What can give more satisfaction than knowing you are able to support him or her in eating well, feeling well and being well for the rest of their life
I look forward to seeing you and your kids in the clinic soon
About the Kids Clinic
As parents or caregivers we are in the privileged position of playing an important part in helping our babies and children reach their full potential – physically and mentally. One way in which we can do this is by providing them with the best possible health and wellness care including diet – macro and micro nutrients, and lifestyle.
The implications of not doing so can be great; research indicates that if infants do not get the correct nutritional requirements early in life it may result in lowered immunity leading to allergies and infections and behavioural disorders. Additionally, poor general health can lead to ear infections, reduced learning ability, depression and more.
The most common infant and childhood complaints we treat include:
Digestion: – reflux, colic, constipation, diarrhoea
Skin conditions : acne, eczema
Immunity:Allergies & intolerances – Asthma, Glue Ear, Rhinitis, Eczema,
Infections: Glue Ear, Flu, Colds, Sinusitis,
Eating disorders – picky eaters, weight management
Behavioural Disorders – ADD/ADHD, Insomnia, stress/anxiety, bed wetting, Learning difficulties
We can help in all these areas plus:
Teenage health issues from mood swings, hormonal imbalances (heavy periods, PMS, acne…)
Babies first foods and weaning. From teaching when and how to wean, the best first foods, menus and recipes (cooking from scratch), how to create great relationships with food from day one
What to expect at your consultation?
Your baby or child’s first appointment is generally of 45 minutes to 1 hour in duration and is for fact finding – including a in depth discussion regarding your child’s current state of health, past health history, issues you wish to work on and outcomes you desire. We will ask about diet, activity and emotional health so we get the big picture about what is going on.
Once we have discussed individual requirements we will do relevant physical examinations and tests in the practise such as zinc tally test, iridology, urinary indicans testing, PH test, ABO blood type testing, blood sugar levels and blood pressure, weight and body composition. We may also arrange external tests such as blood tests, DNA Gene Testing, allergy and intolerance hair tests.
Note: depending on the severity of your health issues and the tests we need to do, we may need a separate half hour testing consultation – this I will carry out without you present.
A treatment plan will then be developed including eating plans, herbal medicines, essential oils, topical creams and supplements where necessary
Follow up appointments are generally 1/2 and hour
